Sr. Staff Accountant

We have an immediate opening for a Staff accounting professional to perform heavy GL functions as well as various other accounting duties.  The successful candidate has a solid understanding of AP, AR and General Ledger and is highly dependable, attentive to detail, proactive, meticulously organized and able to work gracefully under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Experience with rapidly growing companies in various stages of transition
  • International experience, especially managing worldwide Fixed Assets
  • Solid understanding of software licensing recurring revenue models
  • Experience with accounting systems with a focus on efficiency and automation.
  • A/R, GL, Fixed Assets and A/P invoice coding, matching, batching, entry to GL accounts
  • Invoice and expense report verification and reconciliation
  • Preparation and tracking of bill-back invoices for affiliates
  • Vendor communications and reconciliations
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries and bank reconciliations
  • Maintenance of vendor W-9 files, annual 1099 prep
  • Help answer and resolve collections/A/R questions
  • Filing and organization of accounting backup
  • Reconciliation and Maintenance of various Excel spreadsheets
  • Other ad hoc projects and reports as required

 

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3+ years related work experience in a multi-ledger, high volume and deadline driven accounting department
  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience required
  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable processes, Bank Reconciliation, A/R skills and excellent working knowledge of General Accounting principles and strong familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping concepts
  • Stellar communication skills including ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of management
  • Willingness to learn and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence
  • CPA candidate desirable but not required.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities in a fast paced environment and consistently meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Proficiency in Great Plains Accounting Software desired but not required
  • Working knowledge of SalesForce desirable
