Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor a geographically distributed development team, promoting high performance, accountability, and collaboration.
- Coordinate the day-to-day work of developers and DevOps engineers, ensuring clarity of priorities, ownership, and responsibilities.
- Manage multiple concurrent project streams, including complex roll-outs involving cross-team dependencies.
- Conduct regular stand-ups, retrospectives, and planning sessions, optimizing processes to increase speed and quality.
- Identify resource gaps or friction points early and make micro-adjustments to keep deliverables on track.
Project & Delivery Ownership
- Own technical delivery from concept through execution, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Map technical dependencies, risks, and integration points across teams and services, proactively mitigating delivery risks.
- Collaborate with Product Management to transform business requirements into actionable technical specifications.
- Provide clear, consistent updates to executive stakeholders—anticipating questions and presenting information with confidence and precision.
- Establish development standards, deployment processes, and best practices in partnership with Engineering leadership.
Technical Expertise
- Serve as a hands-on technical leader capable of guiding design decisions, reviewing code, and supporting architectural direction.
- Work extensively with Azure cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, identity, integration, and security components.
- Contribute to and oversee development in C# and .NET, ensuring modern coding standards, maintainability, and high reliability.
- Design and guide implementation of distributed systems that interact with remote resources and data pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-based deployment automation.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, leveraging logs, telemetry, and cloud-based monitoring tools.
Qualifications Required
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
- Proven track record leading distributed development teams across multiple geographies or time zones.
- Strong project coordination abilities — capable of managing numerous streams, dependencies, and milestones simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership.
- Deep expertise in Azure cloud services, including hands-on experience implementing scalable cloud-native solutions.
- Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, RESTful APIs, asynchronous programming, and related modern development patterns.
- Working knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and cloud deployment automation.
- Experience designing, troubleshooting, and maintaining distributed systems or SaaS applications.
Preferred
- Experience in high-throughput or data movement systems (ETL, data pipelines, or cloud resource synchronization).
- Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments (identity, secrets management, network boundaries).
- Background in Agile/Scrum leadership, including backlog refinement and sprint planning.
- Prior experience in environments with mixed onshore/offshore team composition.
